We've received another postcard from our pen pals, and this one is from Wisconsin. The K-3 students and I had a very enjoyable lesson on Wisconsin wildlife and weather. Most of the students liked the fact that Wisconsin gets so much snow each year (from November until April). I'm sure that it must be very beautiful in Wisconsin during the winter. |

Thank-you very much Gavin and family for volunteering this week. We've learned so much and had a lot of fun! Stay tuned for more pictures that will be uploaded on SBI's official Facebook page and Blog. The K-3 students are learning how to read The Eye Book by Dr. Seuss this week. Try your best, kiddos! Don't worry if you can't finish the whole book - just try to read as much as you can. Quality is better than quantity, so if you read only a few pages but can read them all correctly, it's better than rushing through the whole book and making careless mistakes along the way. You can download a copy of the book and/or read along with Papa Reads on YouTube.
Here's a video from today's class. Enjoy!

Our class made a couple of new and adorable friends this week; we've read many Elephant and Piggie books this week. As a result, the class got acquainted with Gerald the worrywart elephant and Piggie the rambunctious pig. The kids really liked listening to the stories, and they will repeat their favourite quotes from the book as they point at the word bubbles. We've made Elephant and Piggie postcards in class on Friday. The kids were very enthusiastic and got to work right away. We've also played The Elephant and Piggie Dance Game, which the kids love very much. Therefore, I've pasted the link to the game right here: http://www.pigeonpresents.com/dancegame/ You can enjoy playing the game at home. However, please be warned: the kids are very addicted to this game.
