| Congratulations, K-1! You've completed your final reading assignment for the school year. Everyone showed great effort. I can't wait to see how far you'll go in K-2. Here at SBI, we try to foster a love for reading (and learning) at an early age. Our goal is for every student at SBI to graduate from our school with strong literacy skills and fluency in English. We are very proud of our students and what they've achieved this year. |

I really and truly wish each and every one of them the best. I hope that they'll never stop having this positive attitude towards learning, and I sincerely wish that they will be successful in all of their future endeavours. In the words of Dr. Seuss: "Kid, you'll move mountains!" Trust me. I know that you will.
3) Water has high surface tension, which makes it possible for things to float on them. 4) Water is fundamental to all living things. Humans need water to survive. 82% of our blood is made up of H2O. From this experiment, we have practiced how to reason and use the scientific method. By making hypotheses about what will cause ice to melt, students learn how to be reason and use the scientific method to come up with answers. Melting Ice
From this experiment, we've learned that heat (the sun) wins in melting ice, with "salt on ice" coming in second place. We've also learned that salt helps accelerate the melting process. That’s why salt is often spread on roads during the winter in countries that snow. **Mm-hmm...I don't miss Canada during the winter at all!!** Spreading salt is meant to stop the melting snow from turning into ice. This fact is also why the seas and oceans rarely freeze because of the salt in the water.

2) you've Got A Friend in Me
We've made a lot of progress this week in terms of recognising stage cues and directions. The students were able to remember most of their lines and understood stage directions. I was pleased with their efforts. This brings us to less than a month before the big day. Time sure does fly! *gasps* Sorry for the bad video quality. It was so difficult to direct and record this week's rehearsals on my own. |
