Imagine the delight of a dozen kindergarteners as they walk into a room full of Dr. Seuss's weird yet wonderful characters! By the end of the school year, K-2 students will be familiar with Seuss's Sam-I-Am, The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, and the Lorax. The children and I will be discussing one Dr. Seuss book per month (on average). Since we have already studied "Green Eggs and Ham" in November, we will be reading "The Cat in the Hat" this month. The K-2 students have also helped me decorate the room by colouring their Dr. Seuss hats. It is a great opportunity for the kids to become involved in the learning process. Once they feel that they are part of making the learning environment upbuilding, they will feel more inclined to become active learners. I am definitely looking forward to another exciting month of teaching and learning with my students at SBI. Have a wonderful day! |
