There are two words that automatically make my K-3 students cringe: POP QUIZ! But I dictate what goes on in our Reading class, so......whoopsies! Kids, I am only doing this for your own good. You'll thank me later. #thatsthetruthyo And when you realise that I'm right, I hope that you'll also realise that you owe me a cookie. Preferably chocolate chip. No raisins. Joe (K-3) had to read a Selected Reading Book we've done in the past, and he did a great job on it too! As I've said many times before, reading is an important everyday activity for children. Reading practice is an important - even crucial - tool for literacy development. This is why I strongly emphasise reading in K-3. As Dr. Seuss once said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go." So keep on practicing, K-3! You have a lot of choices to choose from. You will be able to read a total of 12 books BY YOURSELF by the end of the school year. You can also pick up a book that you have at home to read for fun. Keep on reading and learning! Never stop. | Good job, Joe! I'm sorry to have made you the victim of the day, but you did great anyway (that rhymed). Keep on practicing each and every day. Reading is important!!! |
