The K-1 students have been introduced to sight words this week. We've covered the Sight Word Book: "Up and Down." Since we are advocating reading awareness this month, the K-1 students are beginning to "read." At this point, they are only reading through repetitious recitation, meaning that they have learned to remember and repeat what I've read to them. However, this will give them a headstart for reading in K-2 when we'll become more serious about reading. I must commend the wonderful efforts of the K-1 students this week! They were spectacular students and budding readers :) You can view the book by clicking on the following link: http://msnataliesbi.weebly.com/blog/k-2-up-and-down-farm-friends We will be practicing reading this book in class again next week because practice makes perfect, eh? | |
