| As part of our preparation for Earth Day, our first unit is on Air. Our class started by defining what Air is. Air is a mixture of different gases, with oxygen being one of them. Oxygen and clean air are crucially needed by living things. Humans need clean air to live, grow, and stay healthy. If our air is polluted, we will get sick. We've also learned about the properties and existence of air. Although you can't see air, it |
exists. We can feel that there is air when we swing our arms or when we feel the wind blow against our faces. The kids have learned about exhaling and inhaling air while blowing up their balloons. We have also conducted a scientific experiment with baking soda, vinegar, and a balloon. We will be moving onto our lesson on trees tomorrow. The kids will also be introduced to a new Dr. Seuss character this week: The Lorax! | “I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.” |
