The book I've chosen for the K-2 students to read this week is "Lunch" by Gay Su Pinnell. It presents to our students simple sentence structures, which is fundamental for beginning readers. I regret not having been able to teach the K-2 class sooner because I have a long list of books I want them to be able to read by themselves by the end of the academic year. Nevertheless, we shall try our best. My ultimate goal and top priority for my homeroom students is for them to become fluent and strong readers who love to read. Hopefully, we will be able to attain that goal very soon ;) I have uploaded audio clips of the K-2 students' individual readings of "Lunch" as well as scanned pages of the book. You can let your child practice reading over the long weekend to review what they have learned in class. Happy Reading!!! |
