P.S. A big thumbs up to Nathan for showing us how to count from 1 to 8 this week. He has also demonstrated stupendous effort in our Reading and Phonics classes this week! Keep up the good work, Nathan :)
The K-1 students have focused on the letters O and P this week. To make learning the alphabets fun for the class, the students were asked to make octopuses from coloured paper. I have decided on this activity because it reinforces recognition of the letter O, allows for handwriting practice, and strengthens the students' abilities to count from 1 to 8. Octopuses have 2 legs and 6 arms (This is a new fact for me. Like I always say, life is always full of new things to learn about) but for simplicity, the K-1 students were asked to count their octopuses' arms. Next, the K-1 students were asked to write the letter O (also the suction cups) on their octopuses' arms according to the number written on top. Everyone did an excellent job, and I am sure that you and your child will enjoy looking at the short video and pictures taken in class today.
