We have read "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss today during our K-2 Reading Class. I've received mixed responses to the book today. Some of the students preferred "Green Eggs and Ham" (also by Dr. Seuss) while others loved "The Cat in the Hat." Throughout the reading, we've also discussed some important concepts, such as: (1) Can strangers be allowed inside your house while your parents are not at home? (That would be a BIG N-O!!!) (2) Why shouldn't you talk to strangers when you're alone? What will happen if you do that? After the reading, I've allowed the children to make finger paint paintings of Thing 1 (or was it Thing 2)? I've also posted a video link to a cartoon episode of Dr. Seuss's "The Cat in the Hat". These are some special treats for Children's Day tomorrow ;) I wish you all a very Seussical weekend! See you on Monday :) - Ms. Natalie |
