The K-2 students and I are getting for April 22, 2015 a.k.a. Earth Day! Since Earth Day is less than a month away, we will be making crafts from recycled objects every week to raise awareness for recycling. Our first craft is a mosaic confetti painting made from recycled coloured paper. We've decided on making colourings of sea animals. We've also read "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister this week. (NOTE: I was not able to read the entire book word-by-word due to the lack of time, but I will do so very soon) "The Rainbow Fish" is a very nice book that I enjoy reading to children because it teaches of the importance of sharing and giving to others - a theme synonymous to Earth Day. Remember that "there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving." | The Rainbow Fish shared his scales left and right. And the more he gave away, the more delighted he became. |
