The Lion King Musical Production
I am very, very excited to announce that my K-2 class and Mr. Jason's K-3 class will be collaborating together this year for the musical production of The Lion King. We have started practicing our choreography this week with Ms. Nicole. The kids have shown great enthusiasm since the first practice. In addition to practicing for the show, Mr. Jason and I will be engaging the students in an in-depth and interactive study of The Lion King every Friday afternoon. The kids will learn all about how characters, songs, and settings contribute to storytelling. They will also learn how they can use this knowledge into developing their assigned characters. |
K-3: Pen Pals Postcard
The K-3 students received a postcard from their pen pals in Japan. We've spent a class talking about Japan and Japanese culture. Some of the students have been to Japan recently and were very excited to share their stories and experiences to the class. | |
Pre-K and K-1: Letter A
| The Pre-K students learned about the letters A and B this week. We are also working on developing fine motor (writing) skills by drawing straight lines in our Phonics workbooks. The K-1 students focused just on the letter A this week. We've listed out the letter A words we know and made Letter A Alligators. Photos and videos taken from SBI Blog. |
K-2: The Party
They've also enjoyed reading their new sight words book, The Party. Our sight words of the week are: Here, Are.
