K-3: Skills Assessment #3
The K-3 students took their third Skills Assessment for the year, and the results gave me a good idea of what to work on with them for the remainder of the academic year.
Pre-K: Letters C and D
The Pre-K students learned about the letters C and D this week. We've reviewed the colours and have continued refining their fine motor skills. | |
K-1: Letter B and Occupation Words
| The K-1 students have reviewed and expanded their vocabulary this week. Our unit for the week is Occupation Words. I've also asked the students about what they want to be when they grow up. Unsurprisingly, Pretty Ponies and Ironman(men) are occupations that a lot of my K-1 students aspire to be. We've also made Butterflies and learned about Letter B words. |
K-2: The Cat in the Hat
I've read Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat to the K-2 students this week. It's nice to see that the students were able to identify environmental print in the book (aka our previous Sight Words). I'm glad that they're constantly going through a progress of literacy development AND that they've managed to retain what they've spelt over the past two quarters. The students also learned how to spell "That" and "Hat" (our Sight Words of the Week). They've told me that I've given them "easy-peasy" words this week. Oh, well... They deserve a break every once in a while ;) Have a great weekend, everyone!
