We had our first Unit Test of the year, and everyone sailed through them without much trouble. Way to go, K-2! This week was mostly about revision. We used our plastic alphabets to spell our Sight Words again. We had a competition this week, and the students got really excited for some good competition. However, we also learned some new topics, including the /c/ sound, a new Sight Word (CAN), and Number Sequencing. |
Our Favourite Book of the Week is Eric Carle's The Grouchy Ladybug. This book is really great for teaching kids about sharing. We discussed alternative ways to handle problems. The K-2 students came up with answers to this question: When things don't go our way, what are some things we can do instead of getting angry or fighting? The responses were great, and the students got really creative. The students made their own ladybugs after our discussion and practiced sharing art materials in the process.
