Pre-K: Letters K and L
K-1: Active Learning
The K-1 students engaged in dramatic play this week. We've pretended that our classroom was an ice-cream parlour. The kids took turns being the customers and workers in the ice-cream parlour. They've had load of fun! We've also reviewed our Clothing words unit and the letter G.
K-3: Pen Pals Postcard
| Our pen pals from New Orleans, Louisiana sent us a lovely postcard of the French Quarters in New Orleans. The kids (especially the girls) were thrilled to learn that New Orleans is the home of Tiana from Disney's Princess and the Frog. We've also learned about dixieland jazz, the lindy hop dance, Cajun food and the French and Creole cultural influences in |
The kids and I have also made grape jello during Active Learning. You can check out the video on our school's YouTube channel.
K-2: Find It
We've done a lot this week in K-2. The kids started the week by writing about what they want to be when they grow up in their journals. On Tuesday, they've read a new book called Find It and were introduced to a new sight word: Find. Later in the week, they've practiced for The Lion King show and made green eggs and ham after reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.
